The Aimless President
The American Jobs Bill is another scam on America and Democrats facing re-election next year aren’t betting on it and they will not pass it. In fact, they are treating it like a hot potato and distancing themselves from the legislation and from the President.
Democrats were so embarrassed by the bill as it was delivered via teleprompter to America that none of them were brave enough to present the legislation to the House floor. The Jobs Bill lay on the floor like a dying horse, and was never strong enough for one last kick or to even raise its head. The Jobs Bill was dead before Obama ever told us about it.
Harry Reid later vetoed the bill and then accused Republicans because they wouldn’t vote for it. Excuse me Mr. Reid but the Jobs Bill is dead and the cart was stolen, there was nothing presented by Democrats to vote on. The bill sat unattended and the very name of the bill was then stolen by Republican Louie Gohmert. Political theater just doesn’t get any better than that!
Obama beat us to death in his message to Congress with the message, “PASS THIS BILL”. Somehow he misses the sublety between nuance and marketing. He then took his message to the streets and told college students, “If you love me, you’ve got to help me pass this bill!”
America doesn’t take this legislation seriously because Obama has had 28 months to present a solid bill, prove that it can work, ignite the engine of economic recovery and take all the credit. But we learned hard lessons from previous scams which received the fancy title of Bailout. No one takes this man seriously about anything. Recent reports are that Obama doesn’t even attend meetings, briefings or meet with his staff.
Recent reports show that Mr. Obama punches the clock at 4 PM and is done for the day. The latest news in the New York Times reflect that Obama is aimless, friendless, “a lone wolf, a stranger to his own government”. Even Timmy-I-don’t-pay-taxes-Geithner is complaining that he can’t get face time with the President.
I disagree that Obama is suddenly “aimless”. Obama has been without direction from the day he took the oath of office. He had one goal and that was to pay off his Wall Street friends for their campaign donations. His secondary goal was to spend America to and over the brink of credit unworthiness. He has accomplished both goals.
He has always been disconnected from the American people (Fact: 2009-2010 Apology Tour)
He has never played nice with others (Fact: He has been completely partisan in all legislative efforts)
He has blamed everyone except himself. (Fact: He has blamed the GOP, Congress, the banks, corporations, Wall Street and even the American people. “Eat your peas”)
The Times story shows that Obama will ‘retire from his day’ as early as 4 PM, have dinner with his family and then lock himself in a private office. I can picture him in this private office. He’s on the phone, feet on the desk, chatting with his ghost writer on the next book about his favorite topic – himself.
The article also states that Obama does not have any, “inclination to adopt any ideas other than his own Big Government grab. His itch for higher taxes verges on a fetish”.
Obama’s problem is Obama. True narcissists are incapable of self reflection or seeing their own weaknesses, failures or inabilities. That describes him fairly well, if not then why is the economy the fault of everyone but HIM?
Obama doesn’t have any real plans. He has lobbyists. He has friends with deep pockets. We cannot expect a Community Organizer with less than two years of Senate experience to run this country. Shame on the Democratic National Committee for selecting a frat boy to run this country. Someone had to know what a disaster he would become.
They misled themselves with his ‘popularity level’, and his ability to speak, and his ability to connect with people. They lied to themselves about the importance of nominating and electing the first black President. They were so caught up in their own marketing criteria that they failed to test the product.
They gave him a platform with one agenda – blame Bush. They set him up to make promises that he never intended to keep. He never had a plan to tackle unemployment. He never planned to close GITMO. He never really considered ending the Patriot Act. The fact is, he never cared about America. He got where he is because of the people that handled him and because he is not George W. Bush.
Obama’s own party has caught whiff of this now stinking, dead horse and they are jumping ship. They have learned the painful truth that he is not a leader, and he cannot save their jobs. The fact is, even Obama doesn’t know what is in legislation because he never read it. In fact, none of it was his idea. All of his ‘great ideas’ have come from lobbyists, lawyers, friends and those with a strong anti-American sentiment. Even his economic team has abandoned him. Yes, the ‘Genius Minds’ behind the payoffs (bailouts) are putting time and distance between this intentional economic disaster and themselves.
Harvey Golub, former chairman of American Express, called the “jobs” bill an incoherent mess.
Writing in The Wall Street Journal, he said that among other flaws, the bill includes an unheard of retroactive tax hike on the holders of municipal bonds. “Many of us have suspected that economic illiterates were setting the economic policy of this administration,” Golub wrote, adding that the bill “reveals a depth of cluelessness that boggles the mind.”
Harvey Golub is a man whose very job was to understand credit, the free market, how people spend and save money, and his job was to make money for American Express. The man knows both the subject of money and the importance of solid leadership. He has in effect called out Obama, but Obama is wandering around aimlessly trying to figure out what happened to the cart and horse.
